Austin Tracy PTO is excited to bring the Penguin Patch Workshop to school. This will be an awesome time for students to do some Christmas shopping on their own. Our Christmas shop will be open December 8-12 from 1-2 pm each day. The gifts will range from 0.50 to $13.00. We will assign each grade a certain day to come and shop. There will be volunteers available to help students shop and wrap their items. Letters and money envelopes will come home with students after Thanksgiving. Students will be able to bring their envelopes back to school with their money and a list of whomever they plan to shop for. Please be on the lookout for these to come home after we return from Thanksgiving Break!

We wanted to send a quick reminder about our district's wellness policy. All students will receive a free ice cream at lunch for their birthday! If parents want to send non-food party favors for their student's classmates, that's more than fine! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the school.

We can't wait to see everyone tonight at our Family Literacy Night and Trunk or Treat! Doors will open at 5:30 pm! Come get a free meal, shop the book fair, and enjoy some awesome activities. We're going to move our Trunk or Treat Indoors so you won't have to worry about the wet, cold weather!

Don't forget that Austin Tracy Elementary will be hosting our Annual Family Literacy Night/Trunk or Treat tomorrow (10/30) at 5:30 pm!! We will have a free meal provided by Fountain Run First Baptist Church! Come join us for engaging activities, and we will cap the night off with a Trunk or Treat! Students are encouraged to wear their costumes!

We are excited to host our grandparents tomorrow! Our students look forward to this day each year! Grandparents will have an opportunity to take their student through the book fair and get their photos made! Lunch times are listed below. We look forward to seeing you!

Tomorrow (Monday 10/27) will be Fall Picture Day for all students! We will get started with sibling pictures right after morning meeting so please be at school on time! Get some rest tonight so you'll look your best! Make-up pictures are scheduled for Friday November 18th.
1st 9 Weeks Report Cards are being mailed home today! Please be on the lookout for them! If you have any questions about your student's grades, please reach out to their teachers! Let's continue to work together to help our students be successful!

Students that signed up for a flu shot will be receiving them tomorrow (10/24) here at school through the Healthy Kids Clinic. Only students that sent in their completed form will be given a flu shot. If your student submitted their form after 10/17, their shot will be given at a later date.
ATE Families, don't forget that we will be hosting all of our wonderful grandparents on Wednesday October 29th! Grandparents will also have an opportunity to take their student through the book fair, as well! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out!

On Monday, our 4th through 6th grade students had the opportunity to participate in a variety of experiments, and activities, with the Mobile Science and Activity Center! The MSAC is a mobile classroom that provides real-world applications of the concepts students are learning about in class! Thank you to the Kentucky Department of Agriculture and Kentucky Agriculture & Environment in the Classroom, Inc. for this wonderful opportunity for our students!

Last week, Austin Tracy Gifted and Talented students had the opportunity to tour the Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science located on Western Kentucky University's campus. The Gatton Academy is Kentucky's first residential STEM Academy. It is a two year residential program for students interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Instead of spending their junior and seniors years in traditional high schools, Gatton Academy students take all of their course work through WKU. Students that complete the program will earn a minimum of 60 college credit hours before they graduate! The Gatton Academy empowers exceptional young scientists and mathematicians to learn in an environment that offers advanced educational opportunities while living in a community that is supportive and fun.
Austin Tracy students had the opportunity to tour campus, listen to guest lectures, and experience what a "day in the life" of a Gatton Academy student would be like. Overall, our students were able to see the exceptional opportunities that are available if they continue working hard each day. We have some of the best and brightest at Austin Tracy. We want to empower our students with the belief that they can compete with the best and brightest!
