Next week is Agriculture Education Week throughout the state of Kentucky. Agriculture is vital to our local and state economy and it's important that we help our students understand why it is so important! BCHS FFA members will be on campus next week to meet with classes during their PE time to share important information about Agriculture in Barren County. The district has also released a dress up week to help students engage in the learning! Please see the attachment for each day's theme!

Today, our school remembered Patriots Day by hosting a special program led by our Gifted & Talented students. We were honored to welcome a very special guest speaker, Mr. James Vitale, a decorated New York City police inspector and 9/11 survivor. He also worked as Deputy Director of Counter Terrorism for the New York City Department of Transportation and has dedicated his life to helping and serving others. He shared his story to remind us of the importance of courage, hope, and caring for one another. We were also blessed to have many local first responders join us for our program. They were served a light breakfast as a small token of our appreciation for their selfless service to our country.

HELP NEEDED- Our PTO is in need of donations for the ring toss at Fall Festival on Saturday, October 18th. They are requesting individual drinks of any kind- soda, Gatorade, juices, etc. They ask that these NOT be 2-liters. Donations can be dropped off at the school, as there is a tote in the office. We appreciate your support and generosity!

Have big plans tomorrow night? Need a quick grab and go meal? Go to Zaxby’s from 5-8 pm to support our Austin Tracy PTO! They do so many things for our staff and students and this is a great way that we can help them add to their fund!

It's almost basketball season! Signups for basketball/cheerleading are open now! The Austin Tracy Youth Sports League does a wonderful job of putting together a great developmental program for our Preschool-6th grade students. Parents can register online: https://atsportsleague.ludus.com/index.php

Registration is due by September 20th. Games will begin either the last week of October or first week of November!

Please invite your family members, or friends, who are first responders to join us on Thursday, September 11th at 7:20 a.m. for our Patriot’s Day Ceremony. Our first responders will be provided with a breakfast immediately following the ceremony (students will be eating breakfast at their regular time prior to the start of the ceremony). Students are encouraged to wear Red, White, and Blue on this day as well. You can RSVP by filling out the form that students will be bringing home with them or call 270-646-2236.

September 1-5 is Subtitute Appreciation Week! To every substitute who shows up with flexibility, patience, and a heart for kids—thank you. You keep learning moving forward, support our teachers and staff, and step in at a moment’s notice. ATE Preschool Orientation will be held on Thursday August 21st. There will be two sessions offered to parents at either 9 am or 6 pm. The sessions will last approximately 1 hour. Preschool students that are enrolled for the 2025-26 are encouraged to attend. There will be opportunities to meet new friends, ride the school bus, and find all the important places at Austin Tracy!! Parents will receive pertinent forms/information, and have the opportunity to ask questions about the upcoming school year!

Austin Tracy Elementary is seeking a caring, compassionate, student-centered individual to join our team. This individual needs to be organized, flexible, a team player, and willing to support the needs of all students at Austin Tracy Elementary. We are looking for someone with experience with children with special needs, including emotional behavior disorders. This individual will be able to help students engage in their learning experiences. We believe that creating a positive, loving environment for every student, every day, sets kids up for success in school and in life.

Candidates must have a secondary school diploma or its recognized equivalent. Candidates must meet the additional qualifying educational requirement through one of the following factors: (A) Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education; or (B) Obtained an associate's (or higher) degree; or (C) Passed the Paraeducator's Assessment Starting pay is based on experience per classified salary table (https://shorturl.at/52SWp).

We can't wait to welcome our Eagles back to Austin Tracy on Wednesday August 13th!! Doors will open for car riders at 6:50 am! Tardy bell will ring at 7:20 am. Any student that arrives after 7:20 am will need to sign-in in the front office. Dismissal will be at 2:25 pm. Please review our car rider drop-off/pick-up map so that we can ensure a smooth start to our year!

Barren County Nutrition Services has delicious meals planned for the 2025-26 school year! Thank you to our hardworking cafeteria staff for always taking care of our students and staff!

Tonight is the big night! Come out to ATE and join us for our annual Back to School Bash from 4-7 pm. Thank you to our PTO for sponsoring a free meal for all of our guests!! Here are a few important notes for tonight:

* Doors will open at 4 pm (this is a come and go event)
* We ask that all of our guests enter through the main entrance.
* Information about Barren Beyond the Bell - Afterschool Programs / Childcare Centers will be available in the Library with Mrs. Amber.
* The following vendors will also be set up in the Library: Bluegrass Counseling, Inspire Counseling, Healthy Kids Clinic, Lindsey Wilson College, SOMA Dance, Dental Team, and so much more!
* Our meal will be served in the cafeteria
* Inflatables will be in the gym for our students to enjoy!
* Sweet T's Lemonade will be set up behind the gym for purchase!

Our staff is excited to welcome all of our students back! We can't wait to make this a special year at Austin Tracy Elementary!

Barren Co. Pre-K Students,

We are thrilled to introduce an exciting new service for BC Pre-K students, Barren Beyond the Bell Little Trojans Program! This extended service will be available from 2:15 PM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

Pricing Options:

* Monthly Payment: $210, due on the following dates: September 2 / October 1 / November 2 / December 1 /January 6 / February 2 / March 2 / April 1

* Quarterly Payments: $420, due on the following dates: First quarter payment due on September 20 / Second quarter payment due on November 3 / Third quarter payment due in January 6 / Fourth quarter payment due on March 2

* Yearly Payment: $1,680

Please note that this program requires a yearly commitment.
