On Monday, our 4th through 6th grade students had the opportunity to participate in a variety of experiments, and activities, with the Mobile Science and Activity Center! The MSAC is a mobile classroom that provides real-world applications of the concepts students are learning about in class! Thank you to the Kentucky Department of Agriculture and Kentucky Agriculture & Environment in the Classroom, Inc. for this wonderful opportunity for our students!

Last week, Austin Tracy Gifted and Talented students had the opportunity to tour the Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science located on Western Kentucky University's campus. The Gatton Academy is Kentucky's first residential STEM Academy. It is a two year residential program for students interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Instead of spending their junior and seniors years in traditional high schools, Gatton Academy students take all of their course work through WKU. Students that complete the program will earn a minimum of 60 college credit hours before they graduate! The Gatton Academy empowers exceptional young scientists and mathematicians to learn in an environment that offers advanced educational opportunities while living in a community that is supportive and fun.
Austin Tracy students had the opportunity to tour campus, listen to guest lectures, and experience what a "day in the life" of a Gatton Academy student would be like. Overall, our students were able to see the exceptional opportunities that are available if they continue working hard each day. We have some of the best and brightest at Austin Tracy. We want to empower our students with the belief that they can compete with the best and brightest!

We are 3 weeks away from our Fall Bizarre at Austin Tracy Elementary. (Saturday, October 18th from 12-4 pm) The PTO is excited and there are so many activities for the students to do at the Bizarre, so many vendors to shop from, and of course some awesome food. The PTO is offering an incentive to the class that has the best attendance between today and Friday, October 17th. The students in the winning class will each receive a voucher to use towards playing all the games at the Fall Bizarre or to use at the concession stand. We have 20 different vendors that have reached out to provide some awesome items up for sale. (Get a start on your Christmas shopping or grab some awesome treats.) There is a list of vendors in the attachments as well! Please make plans to attend!

National PTO Appreciation Day is today, September 26th. This is a day to celebrate the dedicated volunteers of our Parent Teacher Organization and the work they do each day to support our school. We extend our gratitude to Mrs. Tabitha Gruber, Mrs. Sandy Young, Mrs. Ashley King, Mrs. Denise Williams, and Mrs. Aubrey Thompson for all they do through fundraising, decorating, planning events, and their overall support of teachers and students.
